We're excited to welcome you to Gilbert! For those who are exploring our small town and beyond, below you'll find some suggestions that might prove helpful.
Downtown Gilbert (Heritage District)
This is our usual go-to spot — located just minutes from Villa Siena! There’s great food options (we love Postino, Sushi Brokers, and Culinary Dropout), a Barcade, a theatre with great plays, and even a cookie dough bar called Scoopwells! (The kids’ favorite!)
Sedona
Located near Flagstaff, Sedona is a little over a two hour drive from Gilbert, and it’s a beautiful place to visit! We recommend the Pink Jeep tour, giving yourself some time to shop, and of course… the Prickly Pear Margaritas!
Butterfly Wonderland + OdySea
Butterfly Wonderland in Scottsdale is the largest butterfly conservatory in the country, where you’ll walk through a rainforest habitat surrounded by thousands of butterflies! (It was also the first outing we had after Natalie and the kids met for the first time!) It’s located steps from OdySea aquarium, another great place to visit, which has one of the Top Rated Bathrooms in the country (you’ll see why…)
Canyon Lake
If you’re looking to cool off, you could try heading to Canyon Lake! (A 50 minute drive from Gilbert). Chris and his family have been coming here since he was a kid and it’s always been a favorite destination!
